I finally decided that I was going to take the P90X plunge and go for it. I really like the lean workouts because I don’t need any extra stuff. I don’t have a dumbbell set or a bar for wide arm pull ups that is required to do most of the strength training videos that go along with the classic program.

But I just saw the commercial for INSANITY with Sean Teague. I really like his style and have used his work outs before (hip-hop abs). I know that all of beach body’s workouts are great and they cater to a variety of styles.

In the INSANITY infomercial, I didn’t see a single pull up or weight lift. it looked like it was all body resistance and things that could be done in your living room rather than in your garage like P90X.

So I’m wondering if INSANITY can be done in your living room and would you need extra equipment.

insanity is like continuous work out, while tranditional work out, well you rest.

which one is better? Does insanity work out kill your muscle?
well all the studies we had for years(forever) you should let your muscle rest or you will become weaker… so then doesn’t insanity kill you muscle instead of building them.
what work out should I do to build muscle, get bigger? I’m kind of skinny… insanity work out seems to be for those who are trying to lose weight.

I’m trying to get bigger I guess that’s totally opposite from insanity.
another question, for traditional workout, how long is the rest between workouts? It seems football players don’t have that much rest in between and they have better result than me(standard 2 days rest, which means I can only work out 3 time each week max).

I have P90x and I’m about to get Insanity, but I want to know is Insanity better? I did a round of P90x and I didn’t get the results I wanted, mostly my own fault. So I did another round of P90x but I’m not feeling it, like it’s not intense or like Tony Horton says, X-like like it was the first time I did it. I’m looking for a challenge that will make my body muscular lean. I don’t want bulky and I just don’t think that P90x is really helping me burn fat. I want to tone muscle, lose fat, and lose weight, so for those goals, is Insanity better or P90x better? Please only people who have tried Insanity and P90x or know exactly what they are answer. I don’t want people to bash on either of the products I just want to weigh my options. I’m 5′0″ and I weight 121 lbs. I have 26% body fat(I know it’s alot) which is why I want to lose fat. I want to tone muscle since I have it but because of the flabs on my arms, it’s hard to see but you can feel it flexed or not.

P 90X Workout is everywhere! People from all around the world are ranting about this extreme fitness program. Why? Let's find out. The grueling P 90X workouts are described in detail.

The P 90X Workout is designed to get you ripped and lean in just 90 days. Not only are the P 90X exercises so effective but the nutrition plan as well. For now though, we are going to focus on the P 90X Workouts. There are 12 different workouts that you will perform on different days and in different orders. Below you will see muscle confusion at it’s best. This term refers to the uniqueness of each workout–your body will never get bored!

This is why P 90X gets you ripped:

Workout #1: Chest and Back

Image via Wikipedia

Bringing it back old school – push-ups and pull-ups baby. The combination of these traditional exercises will develop certain muscle groups in your arms making you ripped and super defined. On top of that you will burn a ton of calories because your muscles are getting an awesome workout.

Workout #2: Plyometrics

Jump Jump – Kris Kross will make ya Jump Jump! Ha sorry about the old school references. For real though, jumping (aka plyometrics) is one of the best ways to burn calories and fast! P90X Workout contains more than 30 explosive jump moves. You’re going to feel like you’re flying because your feet will rarely be on the ground! Ya so good luck with your 60 minutes of flying.

Workout #3: Shoulder and Arms

Everyone wants beautiful arms and shoulders. Be prepared for pressing, curling, and fly movements in this P90X Workout. These laser targeted exercises in this routine will get you results fast. Only probably is they’re not easy! You’ll definitely feel the burn on this workout.

Workout #4: Yoga X

Yoga X kinda sounds like Yoga on steroids. That statement isn’t far from the truth – Yoga is an essential aspect of any successful exercise program. It’s a must for P90X in order to get your mind focused and coordinate your muscles. You will be thanking them for this one after feeling invigorated and full of energy.

Workout #5: Legs and Back

Ugh I hate squats! You’ll be saying that after this P90X Workout- I sure was. The main focus of this workout is to strengthen the leg muscles, including the quads, hamstrings, glutes, and calves. Although your legs will be hard at work, this workout gives you time to relax your upper body for a quick breather.

Workout #6: Kenpo X

Kenpo X involves kicking, punching and self defense. Very high intensity levels make this workout a calorie burning machine! The exercises will improve your coordination, flexibility, balance, and endurance.

Workout #7: X Stretch

Stretching is crucial. You hear it all the time but do you really stretch as often as you should? P 90X Workout makes it a routine part of the program in order to prevent injuries. Taken from Kenpo karate, hatha yoga, and several sports, these stretches will leave your body feeling great!

Workout #8: Core Synergistics

Core Synergistics is a program full of unique and challenging exercises that will have your body moving in ways you never thought possible! It also works different muscles that aren’t typically worked. Be prepared to wake up and realize you had a muscle in that part of your arm.

Workout #9: Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps

Here we go again with the upper body. This workout targets the large and small muscles and will make your upper body look awesome.
